Rita

Janey was born and brought up in Brighouse, West Yorkshire before moving to train at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Since graduating Janey has gone on to appear in Lost Luggage and The Theatre Royal, Haymarket, Sweethearts at The Finborough Theatre and has played Feste in Blue Door’s Twelfth Night at The Space. Janey understudied the roles of Rita and Barbara in the spring tour of Billy Liar, during which she took to the stage as Scruffy Liz. This summer, Janey will play Lauren in The Assassination of Paris Hilton at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh (The Guardian’s ‘Pick of The Fringe 2009’).

As a writer, Janey’s one act play Platform will premier off-Broadway in July this year. Janey is also looking forward to the London debut of her new play Checkout in September 2009.

Janey is thrilled to be returning to Middle Ground Theatre Company on such a great Yorkshire story!
