Janis, originally from upstate New York, graduated from Hartwick College with a 4 year Batchelor of Arts degree in both Theatre and English. She did a year with the New York State USO Troupe and an apprenticeship at the Dorset Theatre Festival in Vermont. She studied with various acting coaches on both coasts - most notably Bill Hickey and Uta Hagen at HB Studios in New York.

New York Theatre credits include: Helena in All’s Well That Ends Well; Rosalind in As You Like It; Sally Bowles in Cabaret; Amanda Bloom in Talk Radio; Debbie in The Real Thing and The Girl in The Audition

Janis spent many years between New York and LA, she last played ‘Paige’ in Matt Nelson’s award winning comedy Sensitive People at LA’S Court Theatre.

A veteran of numerous TV commercials, Janis has lived and worked as an actor, model and voiceover artist in both Paris and London, where she is now based.
