Kasper Michaels
Charlie Martin

Kasper is happy to be back performing with Middle Ground. Last season’s Prescription Murder marked his debut in UK professional theatre. He initially started out as an ice hockey player, and was drafted to the big leagues in 1983, but a motorcycle accident ended his pro hockey career before it began, but opened up new avenues to explore, acting being the least of them at the time.

In 1989, while attending the University of Calgary a chance encounter with a PR director for a local theatre company sent Kasper to his first casting, Tennessee Williams’ Camino Real. He got the role of Mr. Gutman and that as they say was that. Kasper later transferred to the University of Saskatchewan where he minored in drama. It was here that he met Henry Woolf, one of the drama professors there, who helped Kasper see the path he wanted.

Moving to Vancouver in 1992, Kasper has since performed on television in both ads and programs, voice animation and many plays with various local companies. Highlights include guest starring on John Doe and Honey I Shrunk the kids, and appearances in Highlander, Outer Limits, X-Files, Reaper, Smallville and the L-Word. Theatre credits include leads in Mr. Roberts, Laughter on the 23 rd Floor, Wally’s Cafe, Arms and the Man and most recently Ruth at the New Wimbledon Studios new writers’ festival.

Kasper thanks the gang at Shepperd/Fox for keeping him pointed in the right direction and his wife Rachel for her constant patience and support. Rachel is my biggest fan, and I am hers, and we are both happy I’m performing with Middle Ground again.
