SALLY SANDERS
Florence Boothroyd Sally comes from a theatrical family stretching back three generations - she first appeared on stage at the age of four with her father, comedian Scott Sanders. Sally has worked in theatres all over the country appearing in a wide variety of roles including Sister George in The Killing of Sister George, the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet, Charlotta in The Cherry Orchard, Judith Bliss in Hay Fever, Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca, Mrs. Strang in Equus and Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She has toured extensively in Britain and abroad in productions such as The Birthday Party, The Tempest, The Forsyte Saga, A Taste of Honey, Anyone for Dennis, The Fancy Man, The Mad Woman in the Attic (a monologue for Boiling Kettle Theatre Company) and Alan Bennett’s A Cream Cracker under the Settee. London appearances include Everyone Loves Opal, Paddington Bear and, at the Old Vic, J.B. Priestley’s I Have Been Here Before. Her many television appearances include parts in Casualty, The Bill, M.I.T., Shoestring, The Secret Army, Within These Walls, The Buccaneers, Pride of Our Alley and May and June. She has recently been seen in Katy Brand’s Big Ass Show and in a new comedy series, The Wrong Door. Sally has just recorded a role for the new BBC series Psychoville written by the League of Gentlemen’s Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton which will be transmitted in 2009.
