BEHIND THE SCENES!

For the first time in this brand new section of the website we are giving a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes of a Middle Ground production. It takes a team of 12 people two days to construct the Tunes of Glory set, lighting rig and sound system at every venue we visit. Here’s how we do it...

1.
It’s 9am Monday morning, and the 45-foot HGV has arrived at the theatre for the unloading of the set. The first show is usually on the Tuesday evening, giving the crew a full two days to complete the job. Easy? Absolutely not. Due to the technical complexity of the show we can still be working on the set just half an hour before the audience arrive!

The Middle Ground stage management team and resident technical crew start to unload the set onto the stage.

There is virtually no theatre in existance which doesn’t have a staircase to negotiate...
