David has been an actor and writer for more than thirty years. He has played leading parts up and down the country; recent stage work includes Kent in King Lear (Ludlow Festival), Frosch in Die Fledermous (English Touring Opera ), Revd. Lionel Espy in Racing Demon (Farnham) and many appearances at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond, most recently as Old Waverley in The Woman Hater and Jerome in De Monfort.
Numerous TV credits include Davros in Dr Who and Simpkins the pathologist in A Touch of Frost. He has worked extensively in radio and made over 400 broadcasts.
David's first play, The Killing of Mr Toad, was successful on stage (Salisbury Playhouse and The King's Head ) and on Radio 4. He's written four other plays for Radio 4 and five children's plays (co-written with David Conville ) including a musical adaptation of The Wind in the Willows (music by Carl Davis) which has played two Christmas seasons in the West End and twice broken box office records - at Birmingfham Rep in 1990 and at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park in 2004. He directed the premiere of his latest play, Kolbe's Gift, for the New Farnham Repertory Actors Company in 2006.
