TOM BUTCHER

Tom was born and brought up in Stamford in Lincolnshire. He attended the Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre and on leaving he went to the Edinburgh Festival to Play Shylock in the Think Again Theatre Company’s production of Arnold Wesker’s The Merchant.

Other Theatre includes Woundings and Born Yesterday at The Royal Exchange, Manchester and View From The Bridge and All My Sons at the Contact Theatre. Tom also Played the title role in The world premier of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman at Leicester Haymarket. Most recently Tom completed a four month world tour of Australia with The Four Amigos in James McClure’s Lone Star which finished with a run at the Sydney Opera House.

Tom has worked extensively in television and is remembered by many for his years in The Bill as the lovable PC Loxton. More recently some might remember him as Dr Marc Eliot in Doctors from the BBC. He has also made appearances in The Bradley Mysteries, Peak Practice, Heartbeat, Holby City, Casualty and many more.

Film credits include Lost Empires and Little Bird for Granada Picadilly; Cowboy for Ford Films USA and When Did You Last See Your Father due for release later in the year.

Tom likes to go windsurfing whenever conditions are favourable (South Westerly Force 4 to 6). He lives in South West London with one wife and no cats.
